Helena Bonham Carter Enters The Crown to Play Princess Margaret

The Netflix drama is gearing up to begin production on its third season with two-time Academy Award-nominated actress Helena Bonham Carter playing Princess Margaret, per THR.

The show’s next season will move forward in time, since the series plans to show Queen Elizabeth’s entire life. Netflix announced last October that Golden Globe winner Olivia Colman would play Queen Elizabeth in seasons three and four. The second season of The Crown is now available to stream on Netflix.

Carter played a member of the royal family in the 2010 film The King’s Speech opposite Colin Firth in his Oscar-winning performance. She played current Queen Elizabeth’s mother, wife of King George VI.

The British actress will appear next in the much-anticipated Ocean’s 8 opposite Oscar winners Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett and Anne Hathaway.
