Julia Louis-Dreyfus Signs Sweeping Overall Deal with Apple

Julia Louis-Dreyfus, best known for her Emmy Award-winning work on Seinfeld, The New Adventures of Old Christine and Veep, has signed a multi-year deal with Apple that will have her developing, starring and executive producing work exclusive to Apple TV+.

This is Louis-Dreyfus’ first major deal with a streaming platform; however, Apple TV+ has thus far signed deals with the Academy Award-winning director Alfonso Cuarón (Roma), as well as with major distributors A24 and Imagine Documentaries, among other creatives.

“I am thrilled about this new partnership with my friends at Apple,” said Louis-Dreyfus in a statement. “Also, many thanks and kudos to my representatives for structuring the deal in such a way that I am paid in AirPods.”

Louis-Dreyfus also has a film ahead of her, starring alongside Will Ferrell and producing Fox Searchlight’s Downhill, an American adaptation of the Swedish drama-comedy Force Majeure.
