Kerry Washington and Reese Witherspoon Clash in New Teaser for Hulu’s Little Fires Everywhere

Hulu’s adaptation of Celeste Ng’s Little Fires Everywhere will premiere on March 18, 2020.

Starring Reese Witherspoon and Kerry Washington, Little Fires Everywhere follows the intertwined fates of the picture-perfect Richardson family, headed by Witherspoon’s Elena. Mia Warren (Washington) is the Richardson family’s new renter who apparently ruins Elena’s ideal of comfortable living. Per the official synopsis, “The story explores the weight of secrets, the nature of art and identity, the ferocious pull of motherhood—and the danger in believing that following the rules can avert disaster.”

While the series’ first look was released earlier this year, Hulu’s date announcement was accompanied by the first footage from the forthcoming drama series, arriving in the form of a 15-second teaser framed around one line—“We all have parts that scare us,” says Washington’s Mia, “but we can’t not look at who we are.” Accompanied by shattering glass and setting fire to pictures, it certainly is mysterious.

The two leading ladies are joined by Joshua Jackson (Bill Richardson), Rosemarie DeWitt (Linda McCullough), Jade Pettyjohn (Lexie Richardson), Jordan Elsass (Trip Richardson), Gavin Lewis (Moody Richardson), Megan Stott (Izzy Richardson), Lexi Underwood (Pearl Warren) and Huang Lu (Bebe).

The series is produced by Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine, Washington’s Simpson Street and ABC Signature Studios, a part of Disney Television Studios. Liz Tigelaar will serve as creator, showrunner and executive producer. Witherspoon and Washington are executive producers together with Lauren Levy Neustadter, Pilar Savone and Lynn Shelton. Ng serves as a producer.
