Watch the Trailer for Grace and Frankie, Netflix’s Answer to Transparent

TV News Netflix

When it comes to late-age LGBT-themed breakthroughs, Netflix was apparently not content to let Amazon Prime corner the market with the excellent Transparent. The king of all streaming services has responded with Grace and Frankie, an original sitcom about two friends who realize they’re in love with each other, and the wives who have to cope with their husbands’ decision to pursue that romance late in life.

Grace (Jane Fonda) and Frankie (Lily Tomlin) are those wives, with Sam Waterson and Martin Sheen playing the husbands. The trailer is out now, and at first glance, it seems to be a lighter romp than Transparent, with more overt laugh lines and, maybe, less subtlety. See for yourself:

Grace and Frankie premieres on May 8. As per usual, the 13 episodes will drop at once for all us lonely bingers.
