Sophia Bush, Matthew Modine, Allen Leech to Star in CBS Spy Drama Surveillance

CBS is filling out the cast list for its forthcoming spy drama, Surveillance.

Set to star are Sophia Bush (Chicago PD, One Tree Hill), Catalina Sandino Moreno (The Affair), Raphael Acloque (24: Legacy), Matthew Modine (Stranger Things) and, as of Monday, Allen Leech (Downton Abbey, Bohemian Rhapsody), per Deadline.

The NSA thriller comes from executive producer Matt Reeves, writer David C. White, director Patricia Riggen and 20th Century Fox TV, which will co-produce with CBS TV Studios.

Surveillance will center around the head of communications for the NSA, Maddy (Bush), a government operative torn between protecting the government’s secrets and her own.

Sandino Moreno will play Maddy’s close colleague and longtime friend Natalie, who oversees all active operations at the NSA (and is the first woman with the job). Leech will appear as Maddy’s husband Mike, a former CIA operative.

Acloque will play Jack, a journalist with an alternative news website—a vocal critic of the NSA, Jack is keen on exposing corruption and abuse within the agency. Modine takes on the role of Man in a Red Tie, an enigmatic, high-level government operative.
