Watch HBO’s Futuristic First Trailer for Westworld‘s Third Season, Starring Aaron Paul

Spin those spurs and brandish your … blaster? After Sunday night’s grand finale to Game of Thrones, HBO released the first official trailer for Westworld’s third season, whose violent delights look slated to violently end in the show’s futuristic real-world setting.

Newcomer Aaron Paul stars as a disillusioned citizen of the neo-modern world, lassoing money in as he plots heists with his pals Lena Waithe and Kid Cudi. The trailer’s muted grays are a far cry from the wide-eyed Western panoramas of seasons past, but we’re hoping that the show can stick the cyberpunk landing better than it did the cowboy culture by the end of last season.

Whether Westworld’s entire third season is set to take place in the real world remains to be seen, but it’s not all new frontier for the show to explore, with a familiar face appearing by the end of the trailer.

The third season of Westworld, which HBO has cinematically dubbed Westworld III, is slated for a 2020 release. Watch the trailer below and stay tuned for more information to come.
