A Biopic About WWE's Vince McMahon Is In the Works

TriStar Pictures have revealed they are going forward with a film about Vince McMahon, titled Pandemonium. The script, The Hollywood Reporter reveals, was written by Craig Williams and was initially pitched last summer. The project just got green-lit by TriStar Pictures after they secured McMahon’s life rights. Glenn Ficarra and John Requa, who directed Crazy, Stupid, Love, are set to direct the project, with American Sniper’s Andrew Lazar producing.

McMahon owns WWE, formerly the WWF, and has been the dominant figure in the wrestling industry over the last four decades. Anything that’s happened in the company since right before the days of Hulkamania have come straight from him, who basically runs the company like his own personal kingdom. Between his success in wrestling and a variety of scandals that hit the company throughout the decades, his life story is practically made for the big screen. Let’s just hope it all makes it into the final cut; McMahon is notorious for revising wrestling history, and his support of the film leads some wrestling industry analysts to question how honest the movie will be. The biopic’s release date has not yet been forecast, but it will likely take a little while—casting decisions have not even been released. Stay tuned to Paste for more information about the project and keep up with Paste Wrestling for coverage of the fake fighting you crave.
