Bad news first: This isn't Ty Segall's best release to date. Oh, but, good news: He's got another one coming in a couple months, and will probably continue producing at about that rate until we all stop caring about him—probably not even then. Until that point, we've got Hair, a glorious mess of an album Segall co-wrote with White Fence (AKA: Tim Presley), which, if the record's press materials are to be believed, will be the first of many releases from the duo.  read more

Michelle Obama’s hairstylist is getting his own reality show! According to the Hollywood Reporter, Johnny Wright, who styled Mrs. Obama’s hair for the Democratic National Convention and her upcoming appearance on the cover of Vogue magazine, has signed a deal with 44 Blue, a company that has produced reality shows for Style Network and A&E. He'll star in a docusoap or makeover series—I don't know exactly what docusoap means, but I don't like the sound of it. ...  read more
