How Nextbit’s Smart Storage Kicks MicroSD Cards to the Curb

The big idea behind Nextbit’s first device, Robin, is that it’s the smartphone that will never run out of storage. Other manufacturers have tackled storage woes in the past with microSD card slots, but Nextbit takes a wholly new and innovative approach. Robin was built from the ground up to work with the cloud. As the phone’s on-board storage fills up, it begins to archive app data, photos and even apps themselves to free up space. It’s the first generation of a fascinating idea, but Nextbit has done a remarkable job thus far with Smart Storage. For more on how the software feature works, check out the video above and be sure to read our full review of the Nextbit Robin.
