Netflix Orders Six Additional Episodes of The Joel McHale Show with Joel McHale

Netflix’s visual pop culture skewerer, The Joel McHale Show with Joel McHale, has enjoyed great success since McHale, who serves as both host and executive producer, returned to the familiar machinations of his days on The Soup. Audiences aren’t the only ones noticing that success, as the streaming giant announced Friday the order of six additional episodes of the bitingly funny program.

The show will wrap up its first season this Sunday, May 13, with the everpresent green screen and special guest Seth Rogen in tow, but McHale’s return to weekly, episodic roasting of reality TV and internet ineptitude is getting at least a small extension. Netflix is switching up the show’s delivery a bit for the new episodes: Instead of releasing them weekly, all six episodes will drop on the same day, July 15. “When the weather is beautiful and the air is filled with the sound of children playing, I want you to sit alone in the darkness and watch all six episodes in a row … binge style,” McHale said.

The expansion of the show’s first season shines as an example of the confidence Netflix has in McHale’s performance and an extended commitment to the project. All six additional episodes of The Joel McHale Show with Joel McHale launch on July 15 on Netflix. Check out the streamer’s announcement below.
