Paste is teaming up with Portland’s GrowlerWerks to give away a breakthrough in beer growler technology—the arrival of the uKeg. Born out of the need for a pressurized CO2-dispensed beer growler that would actually WORK, the uKeg began with an astoundingly successful Kickstarter campaign that raised more than $1.55 million, proving the passion and devotion of the craft beer community for a new breed of growler.
The uKeg functions with simple, food-grade CO2 cartridges to keep beer from your local taproom both fresh and pressurized for an extended period by limiting the contact of oxygen with the liquid. It can be used to dispense beer straight into the glass under variable pressure, and can also be put away in the refrigerator to keep beer fresh for future consumption. Cleaning is as simple as washing out the interior of the stainless steel growler before filling it with another 64 ounces of beer.
