EA Shares Details on Jacksonville Tribute Livestream

EA has shared details on the Jacksonville Tribute Livestream, which will occur this Thursday, Sept. 6. The livestream is dedicated to the victims of, and those affected by, the Jacksonville shooting that took place at a Madden 19 tournament at the end of August. The tragedy left two dead: competitive Madden players Elijah “trueboy” Clayton, 22, and Taylor “SpotMePlzzz” Robertson, 27.

The post, which you can read on EA’s website, reveals that the stream will run from 5-6:30 p.m. ET.

You can watch the stream on the official EA Madden accounts on YouTube, Twitch, Facebook, Twitter and Mixer. The post also shares a final message on the livestream’s purpose:

The livestream is meant to be a place where we can remember Elijah Clayton and Taylor Robertson, lend support to the victims of the horrific and senseless act that has shaken us all, and share in the healing power of play with the entire gaming community. The stream will be hosted by some personalities well-known in the Madden community, including Scott Cole, Rico Williams, Adrienne Lawrence and Dave Grunfeld. But we hope to reach far beyond Madden and share in 90 minutes of doing what unites us all—playing videogames.

We will have more details to come very soon on what to expect in tomorrow’s livestream. Meanwhile, information on the Jacksonville Tribute Fund is here, if you’d like to lend your support.

EA recently canceled further Madden Classic qualifying events and announced a safety protocol review in response to the Jacksonville shooting.
