Nintendo Will Launch Mobile App Versions of Fire Emblem and Animal Crossing
The biggest wave Nintendo made in the news today was its announcement that we’ll be getting both the NX console and the next installment in the Legend of Zelda series next March. Slightly overshadowed by this bombshell was another revelation from the gaming giant: that its notable titles Fire Emblem and Animal Crossing will be getting mobile app versions this fall.
Nintendo has found some success in its first mobile app, Miitomo, which launched at the end of last month, and has evidently decided to make further forays into that rapidly growing sector of gaming. Unlike Miitomo, both the Fire Emblem and Animal Crossing apps will be pure games, without any of the Mii-type social interaction.
The mobile version of Fire Emblem will be “more accessible” than the console version, the company notes in a statement. The Animal Crossing app, meanwhile, will be tied in with its console version, with Nintendo promising that gamers who play both will “find increased enjoyment.” More updates on these two games will be made available as their fall releases come closer.
