Die Less in Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice with “Easy Mode” PC Mod

Following much debate over whether the sometimes offensively difficult Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice should have an “easy mode,” there is now a PC mod to provide players with the option to tone down the difficulty and tone up the graphics, as Polygon points out.

In addition to providing a wider field of view graphically, the mod allows the player to adjust their own speed in addition to the game’s speed. For example, the player can effectively slow down an enemy while increasing their own speed to give the player a bit more breathing room between blows.

Nvidia graphics card owners who are quite certain of their own technological abilities can go through the steps detailed below:

Use Nvidia Control Panel to set ‘Vsync’ to ‘Off’ and ‘Preferred Refreshrate’ to ‘Highest available’ on a Sekiro Profile. Troubleshoot: delete the (premade) Sekiro profile, add a new profile by stating the full file path to sekiro.exe and try again. If Preferred Refreshrate is missing or game still locks to 60fps see the guide further down on Nvidia Profile Inspector.

Sekiro developer FromSoftware has not yet responded to, nor resisted against the mod, but either way, the mod’s description assures that it “patches game’s memory, does not modify any game files, works with every game version, should work with all future updates.”

See the mod’s full, gritty details at the Nexus Mod page here. You can revisit the Sekiro launch trailer here.
