Stardew Valley is Arriving on Nintendo Switch This Week
Images via ConcernedApePretty soon, Nintendo Switch users will be able to raise farms and get married—on the go. Finally, Stardew Valley is coming to Switch, and it’s coming this week. For those who have yet to try the Harvest Moon-esque simulator on other platforms, this version will be the ideal way to play it.
Developer ConcernedApe says on the official Stardew Valley website:
I’m very happy to see Stardew come to a Nintendo console … I grew up on Nintendo, after all! This will not only be the first time Stardew Valley appears on a Nintendo platform, but also the first time Stardew will be on a portable system.
The pixelated art style of the game certainly fits well with the Nintendo aesthetic—originally set for release on the Wii U, development shifted to a Switch version, which was also the case for many other indie videogames like Yooka-Laylee. ConcernedApe mentions in the post that this port to the Switch was handled by developer Sickhead Games, under the coordination of original publisher Chucklefish.
We’re certainly big fans of the game here (even if the game does try to turn you into a damn commie), with Stardew Valley making it to number eight on our 25 favorite videogames of 2016. You can purchase the game on the eShop starting Oct. 5.
