The Witcher III: Wild Hunt Game of the Year Edition Confirmed

Game director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz confirmed the news in a statement to Eurogamer after the site reported the game’s listing on German ratings board USK.
“With all the free DLC and updates the game received so far, including significant changes to the game’s interface and mechanics, many gamers have asked us if we’re working on some sort of a Game of the Year Edition,” said Tomaszkiewicz. “I’m happy to confirm—yes, plans are in motion to release such an edition. We’ll release more details, including the release date, in the future. In the meantime, I’d like to thank every fan of the game for their support—you’re really amazing!”
Eurogamer reports from an undisclosed source that the new edition be released on Aug. 26 of this year, but this date has not been confirmed by CD Projekt Red.
That means the game’s two generous expansions, Blood and Wine and Hearts of Stone, will be on the same disc as the main game, which already boasts a map 20 percent larger than that of Bethesda’s mighty Skyrim.
The Witcher III inspired a lot of thoughts from Paste’s writers, from it’s failed attempts to depict virtual racism to the relatable, imperfect human qualities of its characters. The game also earned a place in our list of the top 25 games of 2015, which you’ll find here.
