Up-and-coming indie-poppers Hoops have shared the official video for their cover of Prefab Sprout’s “Cars and Girls.” The Bloomington, Ind., outfit contributed the track to Amazon Music’s Open Road playlist, with their cover streaming alongside Hamilton Leithauser’s fantastic take on Talking Heads’ “Road to Nowhere,” among many others.

Hoops recently released their much-anticipated debut album Routines, which Paste contributor Kenneth Partridge described as “an album of floaty melodies, hypnotic grooves and melty, warbling guitar sounds” in his review. The band also completed their first full headlining tour earlier this summer, including a stop at Atlanta’s Shaky Knees music festival.
And speaking of shows, Hoops have announced another tour that will take them through the end of 2017. Their run begins with a one-off show in San Francisco this Saturday, Aug. 19, then ramps up in September, November and December, concluding with a Dec. 14 performance in Las Vegas. The tour will find Hoops performing alongside Neon Indian, Kilo Kish, The Clientele, The Drums and others. Tickets are available here.
