Behold the Digital Dystopia of Majetic's "Phantom Life" Video

Majetic has shared the video for “Phantom Life,” off his most recent release Club Dread, out now on Winspear.

Club Dread was a sort of transition album for songwriter and producer Justin Majetich. What had previously been a collaborative band project morphed into something more solitary this time around. That shift is illustrated in “Phantom Life,” a quiet, insular track that doubles as both an existential cry and an invective against gentrifiers. “Oakland rattles in a trunk,” Majetich sings over a Google Maps-esque video of skyscrapers sprouting from the Oakland ground.

Majetic will be performing on Jan. 24, 2019, at Baby’s All Right for the Winspear Review.
