Despite Increased Visibility in Nation’s Bushes, Sean Spicer Looks to be Replaced

As we stand here on the eve of Sean Spicer’s (professional) demise, one can’t help but marvel at just how many pictures of his head are appearing in bushes across the nation. On May 10, the White House Press Secretary found himself hiding among the bushes on the White House lawn as he attempted to collect himself before addressing the media following FBI Director James Comey’s surprise firing by President Trump, per a Washington Post report.

Since life is basically just one big meme these days, a Canadian university professor named Lisa Kadonaga decided to print out a large picture of Spicer’s head and put it in some shrubbery.

Naturally, others worldwide soon followed suit, creating a global phenomenon. Across the planet and internet, people are posting pictures of Spicer cutouts hiding in bushes.

This is just one of many gaffes for Spicer and yet another blow to his ego. It appears that Trump has noticed. Notoriously adverse to being made fun of, it appears that Trump is gearing up to replace his embattled press secretary. According to The New York Times, the reason Spicer didn’t know about the Comey firing ahead of time was because Trump was worried about leaks. It’s hard to imagine Trump keeping around employees he thinks might be leaking to the press … not that Trump needs any help.

According to a report from The Mercury News, Fox News host Kimberly Guilfoyle is in talks with Trump’s administration to replace Spicer. The co-host of The Five has mentioned several times that she’d be a great fit for that particular role, saying:

If you want to be successful and do communications with President Trump, you have to be someone who he actually wants to spend a little bit of time with. You’ve got to insist on getting in front of POTUS, talk to him, and have like five, six minutes with him before you go out there and take the podium, and otherwise you’re driving blind.

… The implication being that her relationship with the president is one largely of peaches and cream. On her relationship with Trump, Guilfoyle states, “I think I have a very good relationship with the president. I think I enjoy a very straightforward and authentic, very genuine relationship, one that’s built on trust and integrity, and I think that’s imperative for success in that position.”

So there you go. Somebody give her the job. It’s hard to imagine her being significantly worse at the position than the oft-flustered Spicer.

It would be a shame, though, to see Melissa McCarthy’s Spicer impersonation on SNL die. She’s been one of the few bright spots in the past 100 or so days.

Of course, the White House claims Spicer won’t be replaced. “Oh my god, for the billionth time no,” said an unidentified Trump administration official to BuzzFeed News last week when asked if Spicey’s days are numbered. Until we know more, be sure to be on the lookout for a Spicer head in a bush near you.

If you want to print Sean Spicer’s head out for yourself, Lisa Kadonaga has helpfully provided a Dropbox link via Facebook.
