Netflix has shared a teaser for the forthcoming nature documentary series Our Planet, the latest from director Alastair Fothergill, creator of the Planet Earth and Blue Planet series. The eight-part documentary was created by Fothergill in collaboration with the World Wildlife Fund, and will feature narration from Sir David Attenborough.
The series will “showcase the planet’s most precious species and fragile habitats … from the remote Arctic wilderness and mysterious deep oceans to the vast landscapes of Africa and diverse jungles of South America,” all in 4K definition. The series has been in the works for four years, and filming has taken place in 50 countries across all the continents.
Speaking at a WWF event in London, Attenborough said of the project: “Today we have become the greatest threat to the health of our home but there’s still time for us to address the challenges we’ve created, if we act now.”
