Netflix Releases First Trailer for Michael B. Jordan’s Raising Dion

Michael B. Jordan has had quite a run as a superstar actor, but it seems he’s embracing a new role as a producer with Netflix superhero series Raising Dion.

The series, which will premiere Oct. 4 on Netflix, follows the story of a woman named Nicole (Alisha Wainwright), who raises her adorable eight-year-old son Dion (newcomer Ja’Siah Young) after the death of her husband, Mark (Jordan). The normal drama of raising a son as a single mom is amplified when Dion starts to manifest several mysterious, superhero-like abilities—telekinesis and teleportation are just the start of it. Nicole must now keep her son’s gifts secret with the help of Mark’s best friend Pat (Jason Ritter), and protect Dion from antagonists out to exploit him while figuring out the origin of his abilities.

Based on the comic book by Dennis Liu, Raising Dion is helmed by showrunner Carol Barbee and will be released as nine hourlong episodes.
