of Montreal adds dates and lasers, appears on Paste cover

Frontman Kevin Barnes and his of Montreal crew are pulling out all the stops to build buzz for their latest record, Skeletal Lamping, due in stores Oct. 7. In addition to expanding on its previously announced tour dates, the band is sponsoring a somewhat unorthodox pre-release listening party: a laser show.

Seattle's Laser Dome will host an $8 show this Friday, Sept. 12, where eager fans can listen to Skeletal Lamping in its entirety set to, well, lasers. While of Montreal will not be in attendance, you have to hand it to the band for continuing to find new and interesting ways to draw attention to itself.

The band has pinned down the Skeletal Lamping track list to 15 songs, and fans who pre-order the album through the Polyvinyl Record Store will receive the record a week early. The band's expanded tour dates listed below.
