Dispatch to release Zimbabwe benefit DVD

Take a shower and shine your shoes, you’ve got no time to lose, because Dispatch is releasing its DVD Dispatch: Zimbabwe – Live at Madison Square Garden this very Tuesday (Jan. 29). The DVD features footage from the band’s three-night reunion at MSG in New York. Dispatch donated all the proceeds from the shows to its very own Dispatch Foundation, which helps fight famine, disease and social injustice in Zimbabwe. Here's the latest volume in Paste's "Can Rock Save the World?" series: Dispatch, self-made indie sensation, reunites and sells out Madison Square Garden three times over this summer. But more than just exercises in self-aggrandizement, these shows actually benefit a worthy cause: the refugee crisis in Zimbabwe. Even Bono would take a moment to reflect. Dispatch webcast sold-out reunion shows

The day tickets went on sale for three nights of Dispatch reunion shows at Madison Square Garden, the first performance sold out within 30 minutes. Only fans who had a specific half hour of free time in the middle of the day to fool around with Ticketmaster (taking breaks to storm around and gnash teeth over convenience charges) were able to secure places in a audience for a band whose “final” concert three years ago attracted 110,000 people.
