Twen Share New Single "Baptism," Add More Fall U.S. Tour Dates

Twen, the Nashville-based D.I.Y. indie-rock duo composed of Jane Fitzsimmons (vocals) and Ian Jones (guitar), shared an explosive, dynamic new single titled “Baptism” on Wednesday.

“Baptism” will be featured on their debut album Awestruck, which will be released on Sept. 20 via Frenchkiss Records.

“Baptism” showcases Fitzsimmons’ “impressionistic lyrics” that “dream of yearning, of wanting to be born and becoming,” while Jones “embodies time itself by revisiting a riff written as a teenager, reworked with fresh perspective,” as a press release puts it. The duo have been performing the shoegaze-y song during live shows for the past three years.

Highlighting Fitzsimmons’ vibrant, intense vocals and Jones’ thrilling guitar riffs, “Baptism” joins Twen’s other three singles released this year, “Damsel,” “Holy River” and “Waste,” which will all appear on their forthcoming record.

In an Instagram post, the band wrote that the new track is about someone who “is getting to know people and trying to find herself, an endless struggle.”

Another day, another single, endlessly until either we go on a silent retreat or the internet gets shut down. is out and about, getting to know ppl and trying to find herself, an endless struggle. Hear the struggle at billboardd or sputify : @willfenwickness
