El Paso-bred, Austin-based garage-psych outfit Holy Wave have shared the video for “Dixie Cups,” off their latest album Adult Fear, out now via the Reverberation Appreciation Society. The video, directed by Andy Ray Lemon, finds the five-piece drenched in neon psychedelia and vintage analog video effects as they spin their trancelike web of simmering sunshine-fuzz.
Their sound is slow, majestic psych-pop, shrouded with layer upon layer of saturated synths and warbling riffs. Holy Wave build their temple slowly and methodically across the song’s five-and-a-half-minute runtime, ebbing, flowing and finally reaching zen-like stasis.
