Florida’s Okeechobee Music & Arts Festival will return for its second go-round in 2017, and fest organizers Soundslinger have unveiled an impressive first-wave lineup. The festival, scheduled for March 2-5, 2017, at Sunshine Grove in Okeechobee, Fla., will feature blockbuster headliners Kings of Leon, Usher & The Roots, Bassnectar and The Lumineers, as well as more under-the-radar artists like Solange, Rae Sremmurd, Young The Giant, Anderson .Paak & The Free Nationals, D.R.A.M., Mac Demarco and many more.
A press release describes Okeechobee as “a diverse, multi-genre event celebrating the start of spring with world renowned and on the rise performers, art installations to inspire with awe, yoga and meditation to cleanse the soul, great food, and friends new and old to enjoy it all with.” The festival grounds in southeast Florida consist of “over 600 acres of pristine grasslands, clear lakes, and exotic tropical woodlands” (and, we assume, ungodly amounts of mosquitoes). Okeechobee essentially sounds like Bonnaroo Southeast, which is no faint praise.
“We are excited to build upon the success of OMF ‘16,” said Soundslinger CEO Kevin Collinsworth in a statement. “This year’s lineup is great and we have more surprises to come. We are opening up more of our amazing property for people to explore, and continuing to invest in art and the overall festival experience. Can’t wait to open the doors on March 2!”
A limited amount of three- and four-day early bird tickets, as well as early bird VIP packages, are on sale now on the fest’s website. A three-day GA pass will set you back $229, a four-day pass $249, and a VIP pass $599. Prices will increase once the early bird tickets have sold out, as music fest veterans well know.
