Description

These songs are all about moving. I wrote them after my wife and I left Nashville for her native Canada. As subtle as the differences between our countries are, it still felt foreign. I did not have any status, I was a 'visitor'. With no health card or social insurance number, I was not allowed to work. I felt like an outsider: an alien. I was given a small glimpse into the life of what many people experience everyday. After a long and expensive process, I am now a legal permanent resident of Canada. I have decided to use this project to raise awareness and funds for refugees and newcomers. It is my hope that it will inspire you to notice the outsiders in your own community, and invite them in to your circles. All proceeds will be directed to the St. Clair refugee fund.
