Jeff is an independent singer-songwriter and, guitar player from Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Writing songs since the age of 15, he formed 1st band at 16. He began playing solo acoustic gigs in coffeehouses and bars by the age of 20, following the example of his influences Steve Earle, and Townes Van Zandt. He was also seduced by the rush of an electric guitar, and was influenced by many artists from Tom Petty to The Replacements.
He tends to identify most with the Americana/ Adult Alternative scene, as his music just doesn't fit with mainstream formats, and at times deals with social and political injustice.
In 2004 Jeff released his debut 6 song CD "Promised Land Blues". It featured the song "Lougheed Highway", which proved quite popular over the years among friends and listeners on the Lower Mainland of BC, where Jeff lived for 10 years.
In 2014 Jeff attended Steve Earle's Camp Copperhead songwriting classes and retreat in Upstate, New York, hosted and taught by his hero and songwriting legend Steve Earle. This resulted in a highly prolific period of notably improved, and very inspired songwriting, which led to a series of new recordings. 2014's full length "Integrity Is What An Honest Living Pays", and 2017's "Anytown 2.0/Halo Sessions EP", which featured "Aches N' Pains" , and "Anytown" -a social commentary regarding the disapearing middle class in an increasingly gentrified and unaffordable city. The "Anytown" EP also included "Righteous Man", which was written in support for (and inspired by) US Senator Bernie Sanders.
2018 brings his latest recording, a 5 song EP titled "My Part Of Town". The title track opens this EP with a folksy Tom Petty-ish ode to his neighborhood, which he cleary calls home, in an era of gentrification. The 2nd track "Ghost Town" is a vivid sad tale of addiction and estrangement, coupled with fiery guitar work. This EP also features "Aberdeen"- which is the story of (and tribute to) the late Kurt Cobain. Jeff feels this is his best work to date.
Jeff is currently recording a Blues inspired record, set for release in early 2019.
