Attributing their delicate harmonies to the undeniable influence of The Civil Wars and the raw power of their sound to much larger groups such as Tedeschi Trucks Band and Alabama Shakes, The Gibbonses’ unique blend of Southern Soul, Americana, and Rhythm & Blues has been very well received by the Texas Music Scene.
Since the duo relocated from Seattle in early 2015, they have logged over 100 performances at venues across the DFW metroplex, Houston, San Antonio, New Braunfels, and Austin.
A few short months after arriving on the scene, The Gibbonses became one of only 12 bands selected out of 150 plus applicants to compete in Ranch Factor 2015, the 4th annual battle of the bands put on by 95.9FM The Ranch! After taking first place in Round One, they advanced all the way to the final 4 during which time they had the pleasure of sharing the stage with some of the best up and coming bands on the Texas scene. The Gibbonses have opened for Kimberly Dunn and Troy Cartwright, and had the pleasure of sharing the stage with Dalton Domino, Zach Stokes, and TC Fambro.
On top of their relentless 2015 performance schedule, Jackie and Brandon squeezed in two weeks in L.A. to record their debut album Among The Rubble, with award winning producer, Jamie Hill. The album is scheduled for release on April 15th, 2016.
For Jackie and Brandon, it has always been their love of performing that has driven them to pursue their musical careers from a very young age. Whether they’re performing for 20 close friends at an intimate house concert, or onstage in front of a large crowd, the couple have a way of connecting with each and every person in the audience and making them feel like a part of the family.
