Lily Allen, 23-year-old Britpop starlet and Paste 4 to Watch alumna, has reportedly finished recording the tracks for her second album. The project, tentatively titled Stuck On The Naughty Step according to a recent issue of Rolling Stone, is Allen’s follow-up to her 2006 debut, Alright, Still.
“I’m pretty much sure it’s finished and I’ve got a meeting on Tuesday with the label, I’m really happy,” Allen told BBC Newsbeat.
Following Alright, Still’s international success, you might think Allen would be feeling a little sophomore pressure from her record label. According to a recent Newsbeat interview, though, that's not the case. “As much as I love them they’re just people who give you a loan,” Allen said of her label, Parlophone. “I’m not scared of my label.”
Release dates and track listings have yet to be announced for the new record.
Aside from working on her solo disc, Allen has also spent some time recording with Jamie Reynolds, singer of Klaxons. The two are working on a yet-to-be-finished new song. “We’ve put a bit of work and we’re getting somewhere near a flow," Reynolds told Newsbeat. "It’s going alright, we go in on Tuesday to do the second session on it. We’ve got another two weeks to hopefully come up with something."
