Film Adaptation of Ray Bradbury's Dandelion Wine to Continue Production
The movie based on Ray Bradbury’s 1957 novel, Dandelion Wine, that began last August will be completed quickly in light of Bradbury’s recent death, according to Variety Dandelion Wine takes place in a fictionalized version of his small home town in Illinois. The novel is about a young boy’s attempts to reconcile the magic of childhood with the reality of mortality. Bradbury gave the film’s script his blessing in the year before his passing, calling it “the best birthday gift I could ask for” on his 91st birthday.
Bradbury had a shortlist of directors on tap for the film, but the final decision has not been announced. Regardless, though, we know the film’s in good hands: Black Swan producer Mike Medavoy has been involved as producer since the beginning.
