Watch Deadpool Announce the Impending Deadpool Trailer in This “Trailer Trailer”

You read that correctly—Deadpool has appeared in a trailer for the Deadpool trailer. Or, as 20th Century Fox puts it, “Deadpool did a trailer to a trailer. What a post-modern asshole.”

For those unfamiliar with said post-modern asshole, Deadpool is the origin story of Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, mercenary Wade Wilson, who adopts his alter ego after being subjected to an experiment that imbues him with accelerated healing powers. Armed with these abilities and a twisted sense of humor—which is on full display in the trailer trailer—Deadpool, a.k.a. the Merc with a Mouth, goes after the man who nearly destroyed his life.

Ryan Reynolds stars as Deadpool, the foul-mouthed, irreverent anti-hero who “must stand alone against the forces of darkness.” Reynolds, hilariously lauded as a “five-time Academy Award viewer” in the trailer trailer, brings Deadpool’s trademark sardonic self-awareness to life in the quick-hitting clip, revealing that the actual, full-length Deadpool trailer is due out tomorrow.

If you’re one of those loonies who prefers reading words to watching videos, Deadpool’s remarks are included in full below. Otherwise, watch the trailer trailer above.

In a world divided by fear, one man must stand alone against the forces of darkness. From the studio that inexplicably sewed his fucking mouth shut the first time, comes five-time Academy Award viewer Ryan Reynolds as a man on an eHarmony date with destiny. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you … Me! Deadpool! So get ready to blow out your collective sphincters, ‘cause my trailer is coming. Tomorrow.

Deadpool hits theaters on Feb. 12, 2016. Get ready to mark your collective calendars.
