Watch the Launch Trailer for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided
Images via Square Enix/YouTubeDeus Ex: Mankind Divided is out in less than a week, so we’re getting one last look at it before it’s finally in our hands.
Following the events of 2011’s Human Revolution, people with cybernetic augmentations are segregated and subjugated by the public at large, so our protagonist Adam waxes philosophical about freedom and progress, and then shoots some people with his robot arm gun.
Mankind Divided has seen its share of controversy surrounding its use of phrases like “mechanical apartheid” and “Augs Lives Matter” to dramatize its fictional civil rights issues. It’ll be interesting to see how well the game’s allegory actually holds up in the game itself.
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is out on Aug. 23 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. Watch the trailer above.
