Originally composed in 2005, Miss Liberty was recorded and released in 2017 by multi-instrumentalist Darren Garvey. Long, complex melody stretches over the bar line with relentless determination as it evolves into a powerful anthemic build.
All the way to New York City, you are the one, you are the face in every single dream
Take the train to New York City, to see the shore from which you came, to know Miss Liberty
Miss Liberty is about recognizing our heritage and researching our immigrant past. Darren explains that "I wrote it at a time when I had become obsessed with my ancestry and it was during my first substantial visit to New York City...Miss Liberty is a celebration of our unique history as immigrants." By revisiting New York Harbor, one of our major ports of immigration into the United States, we honor our country's great history as a place enriched by cultures and traditions from around the world.
