HBO Celebrating 2016’s End With Game of Thrones Mega-Marathon

If you haven’t heard, Game of Thrones is kind of a big deal. In fact, it’s such a big deal that HBO is planning to ring the new year in with an enormous marathon of the show’s entire six-season run. HBO will air one GoT season a day from Dec. 26-31, because you’ll need something to distract you from the real world, and it might as well be this.

The marathon will begin at noon EST on the 26th with “Winter Is Coming,” and will end on the 31st at 8:30 p.m. with “The Winds of Winter.” How’s that for some fitting symmetry? The marathon will have to get viewers through both winter and spring, because Game of Thrones’ seventh season isn’t set to premiere until next summer.

Of course, filming for season seven is well under way, and there are some theories floating around about what it may bring with it. Between those and this marathon, you’ll have plenty to distract you, which is definitely a good thing.

Check out a teaser for the marathon below.
