PaMaDoCoBloNaBloPoMoMo 2008, Day 25: Top 10 most Bright Eyes-y "T" blogs

Upon perusing the list of "T"-named blogs participating in NaBloPoMo today, I was struck by the number of titles that, purposefully or not, seemed ripped right from the back of a Bright Eyes album cover. Indeed, in Conor Oberst's ten years as Bright Eyes, he mined the depths of the longwinded (Lifted or The Story Is in the Soil, Keep Your Ear to the Ground, "When the Curious Girl Realizes She Is Under Glass") to the ordinary and domestic ("Bowl of Oranges," "A Spindle, a Darkness, a Fever, and a Necklace") to the eerily named protagonists ("Tereza and Tomas," "Laura Laurent"). Also, timepieces! Lots of timepieces ("A Scale, a Mirror and Those Indifferent Clocks," "The Calendar Hung Itself...")!

While Oberst seems to have shed these titular tendencies along with his Bright Eyes moniker, they're still in play amongst the bloggers of the world (and perhaps unsuprisingly so, given their own proclivity for emotive oversharing).

Would you have known these were blogs and not Bright Eyes songs if I hadn't told you?

  1. Tabetha Gedeon
  2. Take Your Face Out of Your Hands and Clear Your Eyes
  3. Temerity Jane
  4. The Boy with the Thorn in His Side
  5. The Clock Ticks In An Empty Room
  6. The Secret of Living
  7. These Stones Will Shout
  8. Time You Enjoy Wasting Is Not Wasted Time
  9. Two Loose Teeth
  10. Two Songs Rewritten for the Tune's Sake

Oh, will the wonders of PaMaDoCoBloNaBloPoMoMo never cease?! Well, yes, they will-- in less than one week, actually. And I have every intention of sallying forth despite the impending Thanksgiving holiday, tryptophan be dammned. Gobble gobble.
