5 Snapchat Spectacles Tips and Tricks You Need to Know

Though the hype for Snapchat Spectacles have dialed down just a bit, it’s undoubtedly one of the most sought after gifts this Christmas season. As more and more cities get SnapBot popup vending machines, more Snapchat obsessives will be getting these wearables on their faces.

Although the Snapchat Spectacles are designed to be relatively self-explanatory, we’ve got some tips and tricks you’ll want to know about.

1. Continuously record videos up to 30 seconds

You probably know that you can push the record button once to take a 10 second snap. You can also push it again to keep it going for another 10 seconds. You can keep doing this up to 30 seconds continuously, for an extra long snap.

2. Stop recording before 10 seconds is over

Once you record push the button, it records for ten seconds. However, you can cut it short by holding the button down while it is recording for more manual editing control. As soon as you let it go, the Spectacles will stop recording.

3. Get HD version

While viewing your Spectacle snaps in Memories, all you have to do is tap on Get HD on the top right corner. Follow the directions on your screen to connect your glasses to WiFi and you’ll be able to download your snaps in glorious HD to share outside of Snapchat.

4. Check battery life

Double tap the left side of your spectacles (just below the record button) and the circle will illuminate to show how much battery is left, which is a nifty little feature when you’re out and about.

You can also check the battery life in the Settings menu in Snapchat and selecting “Spectacles”.

5. Let your friends use Spectacles

If you’re wearing these things around town, you’re no doubt going to get some of your friends wanting to rip it off your face and try them out.

If you want to let your friends try your Spectacles out, they can pair it to their phone without you having to worry about them watching videos that are stored on it. They’ll be able to only watch what they recorded and once you re-pair it with your phone, you can’t watch what they recorded.
