Billy Eichner Set to Star in New Animated Series for FX

There’s a decent chance that Billy Eichner may be most well-known for his voice. Let’s all flash back to him yelling for two straight seasons of Parks and Rec (although Paste is of the firm opinion that Eichner does much more than just yell). Now, that famous voice is getting the platform it deserves in FX’s new animated TV series, Time Travelin’ Jerk, as reported by Deadline.

Eichner recently left TruTV after five seasons of Billy on the Street, a show where he ran up to strangers and asked them questions (spoiler!) on the street. Earlier this year, Netflix tapped Eichner for a stand-up special, though details have yet to be announced.

Time Travelin’ Jerk comes from the producing duo behind Billy on the Street, Doug Brady and Anna Wenger. Brady will write the series, which has been described as “Back to the Future meets Groundhog Day with a female lead.”

The comedy will follow Ashley, a whip-smart millennial woman stuck travelling through time, much to her dismay. She is accompanied by Parker (voiced by Eichner), a sweet accountant and her time-travelling counterpart. Together, the two make the most of their situation.

Eichner will appear in the eighth season of American Horror Story, which is scheduled to begin filming later this month. He will provide the voice of Timon in Disney’s forthcoming live-action version of The Lion King, due out in 2019.
