Samantha Bee: Ivanka Is Not Your Progressive Feminist Savior

Last night on Full Frontal, Samantha Bee destroyed the desperate liberal dream that Ivanka Trump is somehow a progressive feminist that will keep her pyschopath horror clown of a father in check—watch the clip above.

Ivanka’s new official role in the White House is “Assistant to the President,” which has led a lot of people and news outlets to speculate that maybe, just maybe, she’ll be a force of good rather than evil. Or, as Bee puts it, “Lady Galadriel at the very white counsel.” Even The N.Y. Times has speculated that Ivanka’s background in the arts might prompt her to speak up for federal arts funding. “Look, I get it, people are comforted by the thought of a progressive feminist in the White House,” said Bee. “To which I say, if you wanted that, you should have voted for it.”

Bee also references Ivanka’s past roles in Trump’s business deals, specifically a shady deal that went down with a potential hotel in Azerbaijan. No surprise that Trump makes business deals with people widely known to have connection to terrorist organizations (since, when it comes to deals, the man simply can’t help himself) and Ivanka was definitely in on it. “Ivanka’s new job is the same as her old job, pushing her dad’s dodgy agenda with a smile,” said Bee.
