Allegra Krieger Signs With Double Double Whammy, Announces New Album

Singer/songwriter Allegra Krieger has signed with Double Double Whammy and is set to make her debut with the label later this summer. I Keep My Feet on the Fragile Plane arrives July 21, and Krieger has unveiled lead single “Nothing In This World Ever Stays Still” in celebration. After the record’s release, Krieger will tour with Angel Olsen this fall.

“Nothing In This World Ever Stays Still” is a beautiful, patient acoustic cut with a backing chorus of a sparse, cosmic electric guitar and atmospheric pedal steel. The track is a lyrical mountain, as Krieger distills vivid imagery of the world around her: “Long Beach, California, working at a sports bar / Watching the game, red team’s winning so far / Everyone’s getting pissed off and drunk / I’m taking a smoke break, leaning on the trunk / Of a coastal oak growing out of the sidewalk / Watching coastal smoke coming out of the hills.” She’s one of the best working songwriters, and this tune proves it.
