R. Kelly Reportedly Hires Bill Cosby’s Former Lawyer Monique Pressley

R. Kelly has reportedly hired Monique Pressley, Bill Cosby’s former lawyer, amid his sexual misconduct allegations, The Daily Mail reports. Pressley resigned her position as Cosby’s lawyer last August during his sexual assault case. However, she defended him on television before stepping down. Cosby currently faces three felony charges of second-degree aggravated indecent assault.

BuzzFeed News reported earlier this month that Kelly is allegedly holding women captive in a sex cult on his properties in Atlanta and Chicago. Kelly attorney Linda Mensch issued a statement in defense of her client last week.

“Mr. Robert Kelly is both alarmed and disturbed at the recent revelations attributed to him,” Mensch said. “Mr. Kelly unequivocally denies such allegations and will work diligently and forcibly to pursue his accusers and clear his name.”

A number of women have come forward to describe their experiences with Kelly. A former member of his inner circle has said that he dictates “what they eat, how they dress, when they bathe, when they sleep and how they engage in sexual encounters that he records.”
