Having always been an outspoken rapper, Vic Mensa just released the provocative video for his band’s latest single, “Camp America.”

Tackling ICE and Donald Trump’s immigration policy, Mensa delves into the “family separation policy” in the video. The video likens the ICE detention centers as a sort of summer camp with the children, all of whom are white, dancing around in their cage and enjoying their time there as Mensa raps: “We’ll be living it up, not giving a fuck / Splitting you up, then we put you in cuffs / Then we shipping you off / Yeah, you could get lost at Camp America.”

“The song’s lyrics were inspired by ICE director Matthew Albence comparing the immigration detention centers to summer camps,” Mensa tells The Daily Beast. “I thought that was a crazy fucking idea and wanted to create a world with this song that imagined that twisted alternate reality, where it was fun for kids to be held as prisoners, drinking out of toilets, away from their parents, and somehow enjoy it like one might at a summer camp.”

Since Trump implicated his immigration policy, more than 20 immigrants have died and his administration, as well as ICE, have continued to claim the detention centers are safe.

Mensa previously partook in a Chicago protest against the Chicago police over the shooting of Laquan McDonald, according to reports by Consequence Of Sound. This also isn’t his first instance of making a statement through a music video. The rapper’s video for “We Could Be Free; calls for racial equality and peace.
