Dann Morr, songwriter and sideman, released his debut album Shouting Into the Wind on Squirrel Trap Records in September, 2014. Produced by Mike Hagler (OK Go, Wilco, Billy Bragg) and Morr, the 10-track album was recorded in Chicago at Kingsize Sound Labs and is a collection of indie rock gems that deftly incorporates the best parts of his long tenure in the Chicago music scene.
Since the 1990s Dann Morr has been a singer and multi-instrumentalist in the folk-rock group Wells-next-the-Sea, indie-rock/power-pop outfits Analog Radio, and High Energy Physics, as well as bassist and backing vocalist for a number of other Windy City artists. In addition to performing solo and with his backing band, The Dashing Bastard Sideshow, in 2015 Dann has also performed on stage with Rosie & The Rivets, Phil Angotti, Mooner, Arts & Letters, The Obleeks, and the Thomas Pace Band and appears on Mooner's album Masterpiece, Arts & Letters' EP Foreign Affairs, and Larry O. Dean's single Americans for Prosperity.
Dann's new live album The Echo Is All That Remains was released in October, 2015. It was recorded in Chicago in January and February 2015 at The Hideout, Martyrs’, and live on the air at WBEZ. Joining Dann on these recordings are The Dashing Bastard Sideshow (Larry Beers, Tom Slater, Johnny Million, and Chuck King), Kristina Priceman (DICKIE), Lee Ketch (Mooner), and Bill Pekara & Mike Medina (The Gear/Cook County Soul Alliance).
The Echo Is All That Remains features songs from Dann's 2014 album Shouting Into the Wind plus his previous projects Wells-next-the-Sea, Analog Radio, and Tom Daily. As he did on Shouting, with The Echo Dann continues a musical exploration of where he comes from and where he is going.
