Not soooo long ago, I was invited by a producer friend from church, to sing on a really cool Country influenced musical project that included a line-up of studio musicians based in Nashville, that were assembled to record a group of songs intended to serve as the soundtrack for a TV pilot being shopped to the networks. I had a blast recording the vocals, and it was fun to lean into my Southern roots!
The story for the would be show, was about a guy that was over the ups and downs of the Wall St. corporate life, as well as the bad relationship he was in, who decided to leave it all behind to head home to the small beach town he'd grown up in to hopefully reconnect with his first love, and finally follow his dream to open up a Country/Rock bar on the water!
The lyrics throughout these songs reflect not only the bittersweet taste as to how we can feel when life turns a page, but also the excitement that can be experienced during a new adventure and chapter of life and love!
Though the show didn't get picked up, I'm happy to have the opportunity and permission to share this fun music that tells the story many can probably relate to in one way or another and we hope you enjoy! The tunes offer a good mix of Country, Rock, Pop, and Americana, and you may hear the influence of artists such as The Eagles, Bob Seger, John Cougar, Tom Petty, as well as others! Please feel free to share with others!
Some vocals and all music recorded in Franklin, Tn. at the The Sound Kitchen. Vocals were recorded at Telekon Studios in Scottsdale, Az. with Producer Daniel Willett. Executive Producer Rob Miller.
