Taylor Phipps began to write Stuck for the ignored and oppressed people he saw sitting around him on his regular bus rides in Turkey. Lyrically, the despair of these outcasts is shown clearly, but musically, Taylor embodies hope in a contradicting joyful expression to show that even in the sufferings of life there is always something to be cheerful and thankful for.
In Stuck (feat. Carson Vaughn), Taylor mainly focused on customized electric guitar sounds and ambient backgrounds. There are in fact only two synthesizers in the entire song. In the instrumental bridge, Taylor used a kitchen hand mixer on an electric guitar as seen in the music video.
