Leaked Document Shows Trump Signed Letter of Intent for Trump Tower Moscow

A document recently obtained by CNN shows that Donald Trump signed a letter of intent to move forward with the Trump Tower Moscow project, despite mixed deflections from himself and his lawyer alleging that the letter was never signed, or never existed in the first place. The letter sheds more light on former Trump lawyer Michael Cohen’s surprise testimony last month and proves, again, that the president is a liar. A very, very bad liar.

Last month, Trump referred to the letter while talking to reporters, saying offhandedly that Cohen may have signed it, but he didn’t remember, per CNN. More recently, Trump’s current lawyer Rudy Giuliani told CNN the document existed, but no one had signed it, illustrating the conflicting stories of two men who should really be on the same page. It doesn’t take a detective to see the shakiness of their story, especially looking at the letter itself, which bears Donald Trump’s signature.

It also lists the terms of the agreement. With a $4 million fee, the Trump Organization would have received a cut of future profits, control over its marketing and condo design, a hotel, commercial space in Moscow and—the cherry on top—a spa named after Trump’s self-rated most-dateable daughter, Ivanka.

Giuliani responded again to the letter after it was brought to light. He contradicted himself, telling the New York Daily News that “of course” Trump signed the letter, but that “It means nothing but an expression of interest that means very little unless it goes to a contract and it never did.” But the letter also bears the signature of I.C. Expert Investment Co. owner Andrey Rozov, the man who would have been tasked with developing the project, implying that both parties planned to move forward with the agreed-upon terms.

This letter is dated Oct. 28, 2015. When former Trump lawyer Michael Cohen pleaded guilty of lying to congress in his testimony last month, he told the court that he was feeding Trump and his family information about Trump Tower Moscow well into the 2016 campaign, proving that the letter of intent did actually mean something. The president can’t even coordinate a lie, let alone a country.
