Marvel to Bring Entire Line to Day-and-Date Digital

Marvel has finally announced that their entire comic line will be available day-and-date digital release. What this means is that the release of a new issue will be released both in paper and digital forms on the same day through their mobile app. According to Gizmodo, almost all of Marvel's comics will be available in a digital form by next March. Rather than coming out all once, the releases will be staggered to match story arcs and individual releases. read more

Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 Review (360, PS3)

Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 Review (360, PS3)

I regularly wonder how I’d describe the games I’m playing to my parents. Mom and pop play games, so they’re familiar with what the medium offers. “Space soldiers invade a planet of space Nazis” and “wistful cowboy fights to find his family” aren’t going to earn me confused looks. My relatives have real-life reference points aiding their understanding of why I’d play these games, and paring them down to these bare essentials makes games’ goals even easier to convey. I cannot employ the same tactic to Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds. “So, Dad, super-heroes punching anime chicks... read more

Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions Review (Xbox 360)

Developer: Beenox Publisher: Activision Platforms: Nintendo Wii, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 Does whatever a spider can… more or less It’s been a tough ride for the spandex clad pantheon of comic book superheroes. For every decent video game culled from the pages of DC and Marvel, there are ten more horrible adaptations waiting in the wings like the proverbial henchmen of a mad super villain. Then along came 2009’s Batman: Arkham Asylum, a game that was both a paean to fans of the Dark Knight as well as an innovative gameplay experience. As a result, it now almost goes without... read more

Eight Housewives Who Would Make Kick-Ass Superheroes

Eight Housewives Who Would Make Kick-Ass Superheroes

According to Variety, Mad Men‘s January Jones is slated to play Emma Frost in the Matthew Vaughn-directed X-Men Origins: First Class. We can’t think of anything as satisfying as seeing the unhappy, mistreated Betty Draper finally go mutant and kick some villainous butt. That got us thinking about other frustrated housewives we’d like to see transformed into Marvel demigods, finally muscled-up and ready to take their fate into their own Kung Fu-fighting hands. Thus we’ve drawn from the far corners of both desperate housewifery and comic book ladydom to show what would happen if only Bree Hodge could fly and... read more
