Heavy Rain, Absolver Grab the Spotlight in Debut on July’s PS Plus Lineup

It looks like PlayStation Plus subscribers are getting their second dose of Quantic Dream this year when Heavy Rain becomes free to download in July. Multiplayer melee fighting game Absolver also joins Heavy Rain next month as a part of the PlayStation 4 titles available to PS Plus subscribers.

Other games offered next month include:

Rayman 3 HD, PS3
Deception IV: The Nightmare Princess, PS3
Space Overlords, PS Vita
Zero Escape: Zero Time Dilemma, PS Vita

This isn’t the first title from Quantic Dream to arrive on the service, as Beyond: Two Souls was a part of May’s PS Plus offerings. For fans of the studio’s games, it has been a good couple of months. Their latest title, Detroit: Become Human, released in May to generally positive reviews. However, while some have praised the branching paths of its storytelling, others felt the game to be a little too tone-deaf towards the subject matter it was trying to approach.

Heavy Rain is one of Quantic Dream’s earlier games, which puts players right into the middle of a psychological thriller, following four characters on their journey to discover the identity of the Origami Killer. Meanwhile, Absolver is a fighting game that focuses on fluid martial-arts combat. Players can customize their character and fighting moves, and face off against other players online. The new lineup of games arrives next week, so if you haven’t downloaded June’s PS Plus titles, you might want to do so now.

PS Plus members are also being treated to a special promotion for the next couple of months: From now until Sep. 25, subscribers will be able to purchase three months of the PlayStation Now service for the low price of $29.99. Not bad for a solid month of games.
