Exclusive Heavy Metal Preview: Debt, Deception and Mechs Collide in The Payback$ #2

Next week, writers Donny Cates and Eliot Rahal and artist Geoff Shaw will release the sophomore issue of The Payback$ under new publisher Heavy Metal. The comic follows a misfit group of indebted “superheroes” who act as repo men and women, targeting other superfolk who haven’t quiiiite paid back the credit for all their supergadets, body mods and subterranean lairs.

This new issue follows the WikiLeaks-esque reveal of the Super-Dex, a directory with every superheroes’ secret identity, now available on the four corners of the world wide web. In response, The Payback$ ominous boss, Mr. Pierce, cuts a deal with his team, promising any member a release from their debt if they off a member of the premiere super-team, The Command. Which member will let their ethics sink low(er)? What’s up with giant purple mech fantasy? And why is their an infinite labyrinth inside a pretty sketchy van? Find out on Wednesday in The Payback$ #2.
