Drake Calls Out Coachella-Area Country Club For Racial Profiling in Now-Deleted Instagram Post

It’s been quite a month for PR scandals, from the already-infamous United Airlines “re-accommodation” to Sean Spicer’s tactless Hitler comments. Now, the Madison Club in the Coachella Valley is the latest in the crosshairs, accused of the serious offense of racial profiling by none other than Drake.

While in California to guest-star in Future’s Coachella performance, Drake publicly accused the upscale country club of racial profiling in a now-deleted Instagram post. “The most offensive place I have ever stayed in my life,” Drake wrote, “with staff who pick and choose who they are going to accommodate based on racial profiling.” He deleted the post shortly after—though you can view a screenshot of the post via Spin—and has not elaborated on what exactly went down.

Even though it was deleted, according to Complex, Drake’s post garnered more than 200,000 likes before it was taken down. Once Drake fans heard of the alleged discrimination taking place at the Madison Club, they quickly jumped to badmouth the venue in what continues to be one of the most effective ways of the 21st century—via the internet. Specifically, fans took to Yelp, where the Madison Club has now dipped to a 1.5-star rating.

The Madison Club has yet to respond to Drake’s allegation. But as their ratings continue to suffer, they’d better get a move on. Hopefully, they’ll learn something from United, and handle the situation quickly. While Drake didn’t include any specifics of what exactly he experienced, we think this photo from the country club’s website says plenty.
